In the first half of 2024, securities of 20 regulated market issuers and securities of 20 alternative market issuers were traded on the Latvian capital market.

During the six months of this year, the total amount of the regulated market capitalisation was 1.86 billion euro, while the turnover accounted for 13.1 million euro, posting an increase of 62.1% compared to the first half of 2023. Meanwhile, during the six months of this year, the total amount of the alternative market capitalisation reached 394.0 million euro, whereas the turnover amounted to 29.1 million euro – 3.2 times higher compared with the first half of 2023.

The data compiled by Latvijas Banka suggest that stock transactions were predominantly executed in the regulated market, accounting for 79% of transactions or 23.7 thousand, but 21% of transactions or 6.5 thousand were carried out in the alternative market in the first half of 2024. The number of bond transactions amounted to 0.9 thousand and 1.1 thousand in the regulated and alternative markets respectively.
