A national resolution fund is established in each of the Member States of the Single Resolution Mechanism. Latvijas Banka, as the resolution authority of Latvia, ensures the accumulation and management of assets in the national resolution fund. This fund is made up of contributions from investment firms.
Similar to the objective of the Single Resolution Fund, also the establishment of a national resolution fund is designed to finance the use of resolution tools in the situation of emergency (crisis) where a resolution action is to be applied.
Once a year, an investment firm registered in Latvia with an initial capital of at least 750 000 euro makes a contribution to the national resolution fund.
